My work this year explores the largely unknown power of algorithms over our perception of the world. The way algorithms cater to our likes and dislikes can mean our digital world becomes very sheltered, it’s this disconnect between digital and physical that alters our lived reality.

Algorithms are fairly ambiguous to most people and the power that those writing them hold is growing, I wanted to visualise, vocalise and build a physical space for these systems. In order to encourage enquiry into the real power of algorithms on our personal world view. I made four tracks to each of the base words of algorithmic writing, Brute Force, Greedy, Dynamic and Backtracking. The films here are individual reactions to those sounds depicting the personalisation of these systems affect.
