Leaving, Non-Places & Roots: Stories of Migration

The focus of my practice this year has been on stories of migration. Through autobiographical reflection and research in the form of conversations with people around me, I have aimed to explore storytelling and ways of visualizing personal experiences through design. Inspired deeply by the concept of non-places and psychogeography, the projects range from a publication to a photographic series, screen prints and a work-in-progress archival website (that will launch soon, stay tuned to my site and Instagram!). This growing project intends to encourage conversation and empathy on the experiences of migrating, specifically into the UK at a young age, find common experiences and acknowledge the breadth of challenges and obstacles.
